The answer is right in front of us—do you see it?
So many times, we keep analyzing a situation, and we hear many opinions along with some answers that sound good. We might even think that the answers we hear are new, deep revelations that we have not heard before. This is especially true if they come from someone who is a religious leader—someone we love and respect.
What we want most is to know the truth. But more than that, we want to know the final truth—something that cannot be refuted. We want the firm, complete, and unmitigated truth.
Jesus said of Himself in the book of John, chapter 14: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” While we keep looking for the truth, the Truth is looking at us, saying, “Here I am.” But we respond, “You can’t be it,” and then we go right on listening to other voices that do not have the truth—though we think they do. We continually refuse to go to the One who said He is the Truth.
This is so frustrating, because the true answer to Charlie Kirk’s assassination is right before us. And when I say us, I mean the Church. Yes, that’s right—I mean us Christians. Whose fault is it that Charlie is dead?
Charlie’s death is not the total fault of Christians or the Church. But we do bare some of the blame and if we don’t realize that, we are missing it. We know that, as Christians, we have an enemy. He is known as Satan, the Devil, the thief. He has come to steal, kill, and destroy. He walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He uses people just as God does, to do his will. As it says in 2 Timothy, some have been taken captive to do his will, and his will is to steal, kill, and destroy.
So, he took an opportunity to capture the man who shot Charlie, turning him into a murderer, an assassin, a monster—by filling his head with perverted thoughts and leading him down the path of destruction. Then, that person took Charlie with him. But he will face justice.
The sad part is that we, as Christians, play a significant role in all of this. No matter what you thought of Charlie, he was one of us—a Christian. He was our brother in Christ, and he told this to everyone. There is no denying that.
What is our role in all this? Let’s think for a minute. If we, as Christians, looked in the Holy Scriptures, we would see that we have been given power and authority over the devil. The Gospel—which Charlie believed—is the very answer, because the Gospel came from Jesus, and we already established that Jesus is the Truth.
Let’s think of this in terms of what we’re supposed to do.
God said—Jesus said—the Holy Spirit said—that we, as Christians, are supposed to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, teaching them the things Jesus commanded. What if we had reached the one who did this? What if we, who have been given this commission, had been fully going out and witnessing to those around us? Would the outcome have been different?
What if, instead of being more interested in pushing our agendas, our denominations, and our churches, we simply preached the Word of God in all its fullness? What if we were out every day talking to people about Jesus and His wonderful Gospel, like Charlie did? What if we practiced the Word of God the way it is written—by going out and doing the job we are supposed to do? What if we unified under the banner of Christ and did what He did? What if we laid hands on the sick and watched them recover? What if we cast out demons and set the captives free—like this man who killed Charlie? What if just one of us had reached him before the act was carried out? Would it have been different?
Because Jesus said to His disciples:
Luke 10:19
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
If you’re His disciple, then you have this power, because He said this to His disciples.
So, as servants of Christ, what must we do?
2 Timothy 2:24–26
24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,
26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
Stop arguing with the world and stop listening to the world for answers. You already have the Answer—His name is Jesus, and His Holy Word. Now go out in the power of the Holy Spirit.
You see, all those who are celebrating Charlie’s death and all those who are dancing on his grave—they need Jesus. And you have Jesus. So, give Him away. Preach the Gospel in all its fullness. Don’t leave out healing. Don’t leave out casting out demons. This is what people need—salvation, healing, and deliverance. The Church is the key to making this all better. We are Christ’s presence in the earth. We are His ambassadors, carrying the full weight of the authority of His Kingdom.
So, go forth like the disciples of the first century. Rise up, no matter the cost, and take back ground. Take back those who are captive to do the devil’s will. Yes, this will require work. Yes, we will suffer. But the first-century Christians suffered as well. And because they walked as Jesus did, and did what Jesus did, we exist today. If you think the world is bad now, imagine how bad it would have been if His disciples had not carried on His mission.
Now we get to the real issue: most churches don’t even teach the Gospel in its fullness. The denominations that exist today are so far from the teachings of the Bible that they are a stench in the nostrils of God. They care more about their doctrines than they do about the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in the earth. They don’t have God’s heart or Jesus’ mission. They have lost sight of the true meaning of the Gospel and of what Jesus was sent to do.
Jesus was sent to save the world from hell and to defeat the works of Satan. We are in a spiritual battle, but most churches are so carnal that they have become God’s enemies. If your church does not teach the Gospel as Jesus taught, then you have a different gospel and a different spirit. If that is the case, run as fast as you can and find a church that teaches the Word—and get in the battle. Because you are empowered by the Holy Spirit, and you can do these things just like Jesus and His disciples.
This is the solution. You might think it isn’t, but it is. If you want to know why, look no further than John 14:12:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”
If we weren’t supposed to do what Jesus did, why would He say this?
So, my final thoughts on this matter:
I know some churches do teach this way. Some churches do preach the fullness of the Gospel. But even then, many don’t go all the way, because the problems in the world keep getting worse. If these churches that teach the fullness would truly send out their people to minister and witness as Jesus did—imagine the change that would come to our messed-up, broken world. To those churches and leaders who are trying their best to teach the Gospel in its fullness and send out their people to minister as Jesus did—I commend you in the highest regard. I pray that you prosper, flourish, and multiply.
That being said, I rise in the mantle of Ezekiel and say: If we were to walk out that door tomorrow morning and go out into our world to preach the fullness of the Gospel to those around us, we just might change the mind of some would-be assassin who would otherwise murder one of our dear brothers.
I will give you one last example:
Just think how different it might have been if someone had encountered George Floyd and gotten him into church—gotten him healed and delivered from his demons. Or if someone had encountered the officer who unlived him and got him saved, healed, and delivered. What a difference that would have made. Because when you preach and release the Gospel in all its fullness, you change destinies.
Now go out and preach the Gospel to every living creature. Heal the sick. Cast out demons. Let the signs follow you. If your denomination doesn’t agree, leave it. Find a group of believers who follow the Bible and do what it says. Then the world will change for the better—and you will be obeying God.
