Judgment is coming. The siren has sounded.
This message came to me by the command of the Lord through a dream and a vision. What the Holy Spirit revealed was sobering, urgent, and unmistakably clear. We are living in a season where spiritual preparation is no longer optional, and complacency carries eternal consequences.
The Holy Spirit directed my attention to the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25. While many believers are familiar with this passage, few sit with its full weight. If this parable represents the Church — and it does — then it reveals a hard truth: not everyone who believes they are ready will be ready when the Bridegroom comes.
The Parable of the Ten Virgins Explained
In the parable, ten virgins await the arrival of the bridegroom. Five are wise and five are foolish. All appear outwardly similar. All have lamps. All expect the bridegroom. Yet only half are prepared when he finally arrives.
The difference between the wise and foolish virgins is not belief — it is preparation.
The Wise Virgins: Prepared Before the Delay
The wise virgins anticipated delay and prepared accordingly. Their lives reflected discipline, reverence, and foresight. They were not reactive or rushed; they were steady and faithful.
Their priorities were in order:
- God first
- Family second
- Work third
- Ministry
Everything else flowed from obedience. They understood that meeting the Bridegroom was the point, not appearances, activity, or association.
What the Oil Really Means
One of the most misunderstood elements of this parable is the oil.
The oil does not represent the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot be bought, sold, transferred, or borrowed. Instead, the oil represents stored obedience, faithfulness over time, and investment in the Kingdom of God.
This oil is produced through:
- prayer when no one is watching
- holiness when compromise is easier
- obedience during seasons of delay
The wise virgins had oil because they lived prepared lives. They stored up treasures in heaven, and that kind of preparation can only be built over time.
The Foolish Virgins: Too Late to Prepare
The foolish virgins neglected preparation. They assumed access without investment. They relied on others instead of storing oil for themselves.
They were familiar with the bridegroom, but they were not ready to meet him.
When the announcement came — “The bridegroom is coming!” — they panicked. They asked for oil, but oil like this cannot be transferred. You cannot borrow intimacy. You cannot inherit obedience. You cannot claim what someone else stored in heaven.
When they returned, the door was shut.
Judgment Begins at the House of God
The message the Lord spoke was clear: judgment is coming to the house of God.
Not to the world first — but to the Church.
This is a call to examine our priorities, our preparation, and our daily walk with Christ. We are called to be watchful, grounded in the Word, faithful in prayer, and obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Preparation time is now. When the warning sounds, preparation time is over.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, search my heart. Show me where I need to prepare, repent, and realign. Help me to live ready, faithful, and watchful until the day I meet the Bridegroom. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
